2-Day Experimental Mixed Media Workshop:
Great Starts to Fabulous Finishes
Julie Yontz Rupp
March 16 & 17, 2019
Snow date: March 23 & 24, 2019
In this workshop we will overcome the feeling of “I may ruin it” as we learn to let go and take risks to know when and how to finish a painting. You can’t grow as an artist if you don’t take risks. We will do evaluations with a list of questions to consider when finishing a painting. We are also going to redeem paintings you thought were a total loss, helping you to see something you may not have noticed before. Each student is encouraged to bring several started and/or failed paintings to the workshop so we can explore exciting new techniques and solutions.
This workshop is for the artist that likes to create representational and abstract art, encouraging creativity! We will be combining various water medias such as fluid acrylics, inks and watercolors with yupo or canvas. Each project will explore different techniques utilizing gels and mediums to accomplish unusual textural effects.
Everyday during the workshop will include discussion/critiques, demonstration and individual instruction. There will be lots of opportunities to experiment in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All levels welcome.
